If you're looking for a fun weekend DIY project, this is it. Since you're probably doing a little Spring cleaning, we figured it's the perfect way to reuse a tired old pair of jeans and sandals.
Hello, Denim Slides. And hey, now you have room for new stuff!
WHAT YOU NEED
An old pair of jeans
Cut the legs off your jeans. Then, cut along the seams of each leg to open them up. Each leg will be the fabric for each sandal.
Roughly measure your sandals from one side of the sole to the other (leave a bit of space along the bottom edge of each sole). You're going to cover the entire sandal in denim.
Trace around the entire sandal, and add about 1 inch extra. You can cut off the excess denim as you glue it down. Better to have too much than not enough!
Put your denim through the sandal. You should have a bit of excess denim on every side.
Start gluing it down, bit by bit! This process should take about 10 to 15 mins - make sure you do it carefully.
Trim the excess denim with scissors as you go along.
Repeat the same process for the top part of the sandals.
Psst: For the first sandal, use denim from the legs + for the second sandal, try using a piece from the waist!
