DIY: FRINGE JEANS

You've definitely seen these statement jeans all over the internet, and they're quickly becoming a cool girl staple.

When it comes to denim DIYs, fringe jeans are up there with some of our faves. They take a little bit of patience, so be forewarned... but the payoff is beyond worth it.

In total, this'll take you about an hour to finish. But you'll wear them over and over again all summer long.

YOU NEED
Pair of jeans
Measuring Tape
Chalk
Scissors
Tweezers
...Patience

STEP 1
Measure your jeans on your body and crop them at your ankles.

STEP 2
Using the measuring tape and chalk, mark approximately 4 inches up from the bottom of your jeans. Do this on the front and back of each leg. You want the finished product to be even.

STEP 3
Make vertical slits from the bottom to the chalk line -- every inch or so. This will make it easier to remove the white threads (more on this in the next step).

STEP 4
Using your tweezers, remove all the horizontal white threads. This step is a little time consuming, but it's totally worth it.

DONE!

Pair them with a band tee and sneaks for a casual look, or with booties and an off shoulder top for a night out.

DIY: EARTH DAY TERRARIUM

Earth Day is a good time to remind yourself of the beauty this planet has to offer. Mother nature is the ultimate boss babe, and it's important to take a minute to think about how we can all be a little more eco.

Making your own succulent terrarium is the perfect way to keep nature at the top of your mind. Putting it together is the easiest thing ever, and these plants need almost no attention.

Succulents are a type of desert plant that can survive super dry conditions. Think, like, aloe and cacti.

YOU NEED
Glass Container (w/ a wide opening so moisture doesn't accumulate)
Cactus soil
Rocks
Sand
3-4 Succulent plants

STEP 1
Pour a 2 inch layer of rocks or gravel. This is so the water can drain.

STEP 2
Follow this with a thin layer of sand. Gently even out the sand with your hands.

STEP 3
Now add about 2 inches of cactus soil.

STEP 4
Add a final thin layer of sand, and place your succulent plants on top. Make a little space underneath so the plants can take root in the soil.

STEP 5
Add pretty decorative elements! We used pink glass rocks and a mini pineapple.

DONE!

And now you have the cutest succulent garden ever. Water your plants only when the soil gets completely dry, cause these guys don't like to get overly soaked.

TU AS BESOIN

DIY: EASTER FORTUNE TELLER EGGS

Remember painting Easter eggs as a kid? Yeah, us too.

Thankfully, you're about to discover a way to decorate Easter eggs, while still successfully adulting.

Hello, marbled fortune teller eggs. It's the perfect thing to bring to an Easter brunch and spread the good vibes.

Check it out below.

YOU NEED
6-12 blown out eggs (see how here)
1 Push Pin
10 Wooden Skewers
Nail Polish
Water
1 Plastic Container / Bowl
Paper
Pen
Scissors

COLORING THE EGGS

STEP 1
Blow out your eggs (detailed instructions here):

- Make a pin hole in the top of the egg
- Make a second, bigger, pin hole in the bottom of the egg
- Carefully use a skewer to widen the bottom hole until it's the same size as the skewer
- Poke the yolk inside to break it
- Lean over a sink and blow into the smaller pin hole
- All the stuff inside the egg will squirt out the bottom hole (ewww. *shudders*)
- Rinse

Let the shells dry for a few hours.

STEP 2
Fill your container with enough water to submerge 1 egg at a time.

Drip a little bit of nail polish into the water. Layer the colors you want.

We suggest 2-3 colors per mixture.

NOTE: We started with a glass jar, but it wasn't big enough, so we switched to a bowl. The bigger surface area of the bowl allowed the nail polish to disperse, making a way cooler Easter egg.

STEP 4
Swirl it around with a skewer to make a pattern.

STEP 5
Dip the egg straight down into the nail polish water using a skewer or your fingers.

We had the best results using our fingers, dipping one side of the egg at a time.

Don't swirl the egg around or it will get clumpy!

STEP 6
Set it to dry. Repeat for all your eggs!

ADDING THE FORTUNES

STEP 1
Write cute fortunes on thin strips of paper (think, like, fortune cookies).

STEP 2
Roll each fortune super tightly and add 1 per egg. Slide the paper into the egg through the larger hole you created earlier.

DONE!

Serve them up to your friends. Crack the eggs open to get your fortunes!
