THE NEW IT-GIRL STAPLE: HOODIE STYLE

Let us introduce you to the most comfortable, and possibly the most stylish, trend of the season: The Hoodie. This is probably the most exciting advancement in fashion since … ok never … but who doesn't wanna look like they just rolled outta bed but are still ready to kill it?

We asked our model Chloé to show off her fave looks to help inspire your own sweater style.

Sweaters have been spotted on the runways, but it’s the celebs that are bringing them out in full force. From Selena Gomez in a head-to-toe monochromatic sweat suit, to Kendall Jenner’s hoodie jean jacket combo – we have a million reasons to celebrate.

And since hoodies are taking street style by storm, you can actually wear your favourite tone-on-tone sweats out of the house. Yep, sweatpants in public. Cue cheering… now.

MUSIC MONDAY: JET SETS AND MUSIC FESTS

Planning a post-grad Eurotrip this summer? Yaaassssss!

While this will for sure go down in the books as the most epic travel experience of your life, your first jet-set moments (alone or with friends) can be pretty intimidating. Trust us, we know.

You’ve got a lot to plan: flights, hostels (yes, there ARE nice ones!), budgets, and your outfits – whew! – it’s a lot to take in. It can all feel a little like 👇

Relax tho. It’s totally worth it. And once you’re there, you’ll wanna add some of the raddest festivals of the season to your itinerary.

Here’s a list of some not-to-be-missed festivals in Europe this summer.

Primavera Sound
Barcelona, Spain
1-5 June, 2016

This is festival heaven for soaring talent and the best of the best. Plus, you’ll be in Spain with the sea right behind you. Bring comfy shoes, a sunhat, and water.

Lineup: Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Tame Impala, Sigur Rós, Last Shadow Puppets, Animal Collective, Brian Wilson, John Carpenter, and more!

Yes, please.

Field Day
London, UK
11-12 June, 2016

Field Day takes place over two days in Victoria Park, and doesn’t require a long trek out of London (yay!). There’s an unmissable mix of indie, EDM, and some cutting edge artists.

Lineup:  Ata Kak, Avalon Emerson, Cass McCombs, Dean Blunt, Deerhunter, DJ Koze, Dusky, Floating Points, Four Tet, Holly Herndon, Kink, Meilyr Jones, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mount Kimbie, Mura Masa, and more!

Roskilde
Roskilde, Denmark
25 June - 2 July, 2016

Roskilde has been described as having a utopian feel…and we’re so down with that. It also has the added benefit of having a humanitarian heart – which makes it even cooler. Leftover food goes to homeless shelters, and water is free instead of $4 or more. Yikes.

Lineup: LCD Soundsystem, Macklemore + Ryan Lewis, MO, Neil Young + Promise of the Real, New Order, PJ Harvey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tame Impala, Tenacious D, Wiz Khalifa, and more!

Secret Solstice
Reykjavik, Iceland
16-19 June, 2016

Iceland is all the rage these days, and for good reason. It’s beautiful. And they have the midnight sun; during the summer solstice, the sun literally sets at midnight and rises again at 3am. There’s a great lineup of DJs, and – you heard right – volcano powered pool parties.

Lineup: Radiohead, Deftones, Of Monsters and Men, Die Antwoord , and more!

So let the European adventure begin! Gather your besties, stuff that suitcase with our festival collection, and prepare for the summer of your life.

TIPS ON HOW AND WHY TO BE ECO-FRIENDLY

The thought of being "green" can be a little overwhelming since these life changes affect our everyday lives in so many ways. At the same time you don't have to do a 180 and change your entire lifestyle to have a positive impact on our planet! Imagine if everyone made little efforts to be more eco-friendly, the big picture would be extremely positive!

Here's why... and how you can get a little bit greener... NOW!
Eat less meat!

We’re not telling you to become vegan, but rather to be conscious. The meat industry is terrible for the environment and responsible for 13% of gas emissions. How can you help? Start by doing The Meatless Monday Challenge. Encouraging yourself to eat vegetarian meals on Mondays is not only good for your health but for the planet's well being too!
Time to DIY for the fishies!

Make your own cleaning supplies with ingredients such as lemon, baking soda and vinegar. Manufactured cleaning supplies are made to kill about every organism they come into contact with. Once they go through the drain and end up in our rivers and lakes, they have a brutal effect on our underwater friends as well as the plant life. Think about NEMO!
Think of bees and their delicious honey! Mmmmm.

Did you know that bees are in danger? The number of bees drop dramatically every year and it’s becoming harder and harder to produce honey.
Here's what you can do to help the bee population: plant bee-friendly flowers and veggies like lilacs, lavender, mint, tomatoes, poppies, sunflowers, etc. but don’t use pesticides. Buy local and raw honey to encourage the production. And remember, Bees get thirsty too! Hide a bowl of water somewhere close to your flowers.
Go paperless!

Switch to paperless mail & billing options. Also think twice before printing something and opt for an e-reader or tablet for your books! Not only it will save the trees, but it means there will still be enough trees around to help combat climate change.
Save some energy and change that light bulb!

Go for a compact fluorescent technology light! They use up to 75% less energy and last 10 times longer than regular bulbs. Also remember to CLOSE THE LIGHTS when you leave your house.

 Be water smart!

Take shorter showers, only run the dishwasher when it's full, turn off the water while brushing your teeth and wash your clothes with cold water!

Happy earth day y'all! Cheers to a green and happier future!

MUSIC MONDAY: COACHELLA 2016 FESTIVAL RECAP

After a weekend spent dancing barefoot (but like not really because eww) under the hot sun of Palm Springs, we bring back amazing Coachella memories and tons of sick stories to share!

This year, the festival highlight was Guns N' Roses fo sho. Coachella went wild on Saturday night when the band finally appeared on stage. We could feel the energy for the entire 3 hours from where we were standing... which was like 5 km from the stage btw #lifehappens.

Also, Rihanna's special appearance on Calvin Harris' set was double bomb! The whole thing was just un-real.

Finally, Sia had the most stellar performance. She started on stage with her classic black and white half-face wig... and we knew right away this wasn't going to be a typical Coachella set.

Here's our take on this mint weekend!

FESTIVAL SURVIVAL TIPS

When you think Festival, you think fashion, chilling, music, dancing and getting a killer tan... And while that's quite true, festivals are rad, but they are also really tiring.

The following tips will help you survive 12 hour days in Desert (or any other festival location) Take it from us who have been to our fair share of fests...these tips will guarantee an awesome festival season!

1- Eat light, but make sure to eat! Grab a little snack just before heading out = salads, fruits, veggies, crackers. There's nothing worse than standing in the sun with a heavy stomach. Or any empty one. Bring granola bars, fruits and ok... maybe allow yourself a taco or 2...or 3... ‘cause we all deserve a taco from time to time.

2- Hats and sunglasses are mucho necessary. Sunnies will help you see your favourite artists better & a hat will protect you from burning the top of your beautiful head. Ouch! Take a cue from @julesdenby and how she styled our festival collection 👇

3- Wear closed shoes. Omg, we can't say this enough. Festival grounds tend to be dirty, dusty and dangerous. So forget about those nice sandals and protect your toes from dirt and even worse, from getting squished by others who got the "wear boots memo". Our combat boots are what's up.

4- Bring an external phone battery! You're gonna be Instagramming and Snapchatting your life away, so you're going to want an external battery. Maybe two. With so many people at the festival, your phone will constantly try to connect to a server which totally drains your battery.  Pro tip: Put your phone on air plane mode until you're ready to post something. If all else fails, you can upload your Snapchat stories and publish them as soon as you leave the grounds. The best way to ensure you have enough juice, is to have external batteries on you... fully charged just like @elsywood 👇 *Available in stores.

5- Have a game plan! You need the schedule of each day in advance, and friends that like the same music as you! You also need to accept that you won’t be able to see every show L Also plan for a little bit of down time to rest between sets, just like @tess_and_sarah 👇

6- Water! Carry a water bottle with you at all times. It’s so beyond important to stay hydrated. Spot the water bottle filling stations and make sure to visit it often during the day if you want to rock out all night!

7- Have fun! Meet new people from all around the world and enjoy your favourite bands together!
